Troubleshooting

What "That did not work" means, a sign-in link that never arrived, hours in the wrong week, and a refused entry.

Most problems have a plain explanation once you know where to look. Start here before you email us.

"That did not work"

Most screens fail the same way: a red box reading That did not work. with a line explaining exactly why — a real message, not a generic apology, because most of these are a rule doing its job rather than a bug. The two most common causes are a plan's seat limit and a shift's end time set before its start time — on a night shift, set the End to the next day's date. Press Try again once you have fixed whatever it named; if it keeps happening, email hello@hourseasy.com with what it said.

Your sign-in link never arrived, or it didn't work

Check junk mail first — that is where it lands most often. Still nothing after that? Email hello@hourseasy.com.

If it did arrive but shows That sign-in link did not work when you open it, there are three causes: each link works once, for an hour, so it may simply have expired or already been used — go back to the sign-in page and ask for a fresh one. The third is opening it somewhere other than the browser you asked for it from — for example, tapping it from your mail app's own built-in browser instead of the Safari or Chrome you used to request it. Ask for a new link and open that one in the same browser.

Hours landing in the wrong week

Every day and week boundary is worked out from your organisation's Timezone, set on business settings — an entry that looks like it landed a day or a week early or late is usually that setting, not a bug. A shift belongs, whole, to the day it started, even a night shift that runs past midnight and over into the next pay period: none of its hours move into the next week just because the clock did.

A line refused after syncing

The office can refuse an entry after it syncs, for a handful of specific reasons — see when the office refuses an entry for what each one means and what to do.
