Your business settings

Letterhead, logo, timezone and pay period — what each affects and why two of them warn you before you change them.

Business settings covers the letterhead your documents print with, your logo, your timezone and your pay period. This is what each does and why two of them warn you before you change them.

Letterhead

Business name, Business address and ABN print at the top of every works summary. Each export keeps its own copy of these as they stood when it was sent, so correcting them here never rewrites a document a client already has.

Send docket copies to is optional, and it is a BCC — every signed docket is copied there as well as to the person who signed it and whoever raised it, and the signer never sees this address.

Logo

Upload one under Logo and it prints on dockets and works summaries from the Site plan up. On the Crew plan, documents carry the HoursEasy mark instead — whatever you upload is kept and starts printing itself the day you change plan.

Timezone

Every day and week boundary in the product is computed in your Timezone, so getting it wrong moves an early-morning start onto the wrong day, and into the wrong pay period. Changing it moves those boundaries for hours not yet sent; hours already sent keep the figures they were sent with. Change it when it is actually wrong, not to experiment.

Pay period

Pay period and the date it starts on decide which weeks a phone keeps on hand for working with no signal — the current period and the one before it. Press Change pay period to update it. Hours not yet sent stay on the phone until they sync, and hours already sent keep the figures they were sent with, so this too is a correction rather than something to experiment with.
