Working with no signal

What each sync status means, and what to do about it.

HoursEasy keeps working with no reception at all — what you type is stored on your phone until it can reach the office. The sync status in the corner tells you where things stand.

The video shows what the badge says out of range, and when it gets through.

Status	What it means	What to do
A tick and Synced	Your hours have loaded on this phone before and nothing is waiting to send.	Nothing.
Not synced yet	HoursEasy has not confirmed a connection for you, in this organisation, on this phone.	Get to signal and press Try sending now.
Not synced	The last attempt did not reach the office, or could not load the latest from it. Usually that is patchy reception, and the next sync clears it.	Nothing, if you are moving in and out of range. Press the status to see why; sign in only if it asks you to.
Unsent work	Unsent work from another person, or from you in another organisation, is still on this phone.	Press the status to see whose it is, then open HoursEasy as that person, in that organisation, with signal.
A number, online	Sending your entries now.	Nothing — wait a moment.
A number, offline	Waiting for reception.	Nothing yet — it sends once you are back in range.
A number, and been waiting a while	Nothing has reached the office in a few days.	Get to signal when you can.
A number, and at risk	Your phone did not secure storage for them.	Open HoursEasy with signal soon, so nothing is lost.
A number, and refused by the office	The office looked at them and said no.	See refused entries.

Press Try sending now any time you think you have signal, to send straight away instead of waiting.

Photos off-grid

Photos wait for reception the same way hours do, and one that has not gone yet is marked Not sent. Thumbnails are stored on your phone, so they show anywhere. Opening a photo full size after it has reached the office needs signal — until then you get the thumbnail and a note saying so.

Your phone holds sixty unsent photos in total — sixty for the phone, not sixty per line, and it counts everyone who has signed in on it, so a shared phone shares the sixty. Reach it and the phone says so and takes no more until some have sent. Days off-grid on a job with a lot to photograph is the case that gets there, so get to signal before you do. An iPhone can clear a web app's stored data if it sits unopened for about a week — that is the phone tidying up, not HoursEasy losing anything. Open HoursEasy every few days while you are out of range, even just to look at it.
