Seats and what you pay for

What counts as a seat, what happens to your sign-in when you're archived, and how many people each plan allows.

A seat is what your plan actually counts. This is what makes somebody use one, what does not, and how many you get on each plan.

What uses a seat

Every invitation — an administrator's included — starts out using a seat, whether or not that person ever records a single hour. Inviting somebody and them accepting are two different moments, and the seat is spent at the first, before they have signed in.

Somebody who never ends up recording their own hours, such as a bookkeeper, can be archived on Staff once they have signed in: the seat is freed either way. Make them an administrator first if they still need to get in — archiving ends the sign-in of anybody who is not an owner or an administrator — see when somebody leaves. Inviting them still needs one free seat for that moment.

An owner who does field work themself counts as one, the same as anybody else.
