When a payment fails or you cancel

What still works while a payment is failing, and what happens to your data if you cancel.

A failed payment and a cancelled subscription behave differently. This is what each actually stops you doing — and what it does not.

When a payment fails

If a card declines, HoursEasy keeps working exactly as normal: recording hours, approving them, raising dockets, sending payroll and invoices, all of it. We keep trying the card over the following couple of weeks. The only thing you cannot do while a payment is outstanding is add somebody new — invite them once the card is fixed, from Billing.

If you cancel

Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — not immediately. From then, everything switches to read-only: nothing new can be recorded, but everything already there can still be read and downloaded, including PDFs and exports already sent. We keep it all for 90 days from that day, then delete it.

To start again before those 90 days are up, email hello@hourseasy.com — every client, project, worker and record is exactly where you left it.
